The IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025 is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to the BS-MS dual degree and B.Tech. programs at IISERs. It is designed to assess a candidateβs proficiency in core science subjects including:

Understanding the exam pattern helps in effective preparation. Here’s what to expect in IAT 2025:
π Mode of Exam: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
π Duration: 180 minutes (3 hours)
π Total Questions: 60 MCQs (15 from each subject β Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology)
π Maximum Marks: 240
π Marking Scheme:

β Incorrect Answer: -1 mark
β Unanswered: 0 marks
π Note: Merely obtaining a rank in IAT 2025 does not guarantee admission. Final selection will be based on cut-off ranks, which will be announced after the exam.
The application fee for IISER Admission 2025 must be paid online during form submission. The fee is non-refundable and varies by category:
π General / EWS / OBC / OBC-NCL: βΉ2,000
π SC / ST / PwD / Kashmiri Migrants: βΉ1,000
π Foreign Nationals: βΉ12,000
After receiving the offer of admission, candidates must pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) to confirm their seat:
π General / EWS / OBC / PwD / Kashmiri Migrants: βΉ35,000
(βΉ25,000 seat fee + βΉ10,000 administrative fee)
π SC / ST Candidates: βΉ17,500
(βΉ12,500 seat fee + βΉ5,000 administrative fee)
β οΈ Failure to pay the SAF within the given timeframe will result in cancellation of the admission offer.
To be eligible for admission via IAT 2025, candidates must fulfill the following conditions:
π Nationality: Indian citizens, OCI/PIO, and Foreign Nationals
π Academic Qualification:
βοΈ Must have passed Class XII or equivalent in the Science stream with subjects β Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and/or Biology
βοΈ Foreign nationals must upload an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
π Age Limit:
βοΈ Candidates must be born on or after October 1, 2000
βοΈ SC/ST/PwD candidates are eligible for a 5-year age relaxation
π Minimum Marks in Class XII:
βοΈ General/OBC/EWS: At least 60%
βοΈ SC/ST/PwD: At least 55%
IISERs strictly follow the Government of Indiaβs reservation norms:
π Scheduled Caste (SC): 15%
π Scheduled Tribe (ST): 7.5%
π OBC-NCL: 27%
π PwD (within each category): 5% (horizontal reservation)
π EWS (Economically Weaker Section): Up to 10%
π Kashmiri Migrants: 3 supernumerary seats per IISER
