Admission Procedure
Here are the steps & criteria to gain admission into MDI Gurgaon’s PGDM / related programmes:
Eligibility Requirements:
Minimum 50% marks (or equivalent CGPA) in Class 10 and Class 12. A Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years duration generally; 4 years in some specialisations) with minimum ~50% marks in any discipline from a recognized University.
Work Experience may be required / considered for certain programmes (especially for some executive or adult learning formats).
Entrance Test:
CAT (Common Admission Test) is required for Indian candidates for PGDM, PGDM-HRM, PGDM-IB, PGDM Business Analytics etc.
For foreign / NRI / PIO / OCI candidates, GMAT score may be accepted in some cases.
Application:
Online application via MDI Gurgaon website. Fill application form, submit details, pay application fees.
For PGDM‐BM, for example, application fee ~ INR 3,000 for general, higher for NRI applicants.
Shortlisting / Selection Components:
The selection is multi-stage. Initially, candidates are shortlisted based on composites of CAT score + some academic / profile criteria (X / XII / work experience / diversity etc.).
Shortlisted candidates undergo WAT (Written Ability Test), Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) etc.
Weightages for Final Selection:
The weights for various components (for recent batches) are roughly:
CAT score: ~ 35%
Group Discussion: ~ 10%
Personal Interview: ~ 20%
Written Analysis Test: ~ 5%
Class 10 / 12 marks: small % (~2.5-5%) in some stages
Work experience, gender / regional diversity, academic diversity etc. also form part of scoring.
Offer of Admission:
Candidates selected after these rounds receive provisional/offered admission. They need to confirm by paying the required fees by deadline.
No management quota or donation seats: MDI Gurgaon explicitly states that admission is strictly merit-based.
Fee Structure
For PGDM programmes, the total fee (tuition + other charges) is substantial (range changes by specialisation). For instance, PGDM-BM (2 years) fee ~ INR 16,70,700 (includes tuition, lodging/boarding, materials etc.) for the 2025 batch.
For core PGDM (general / BAN / HRM etc.), total fees are in the range: ₹ 23-₹ 26 lakhs depending on specialisation.
International / foreign / NRI component and immersion modules may incur additional costs.
Important Timelines / Other Key Points
CAT exam is mandatory; CAT registrations / exam dates must be tracked (for example, CAT 2025 date etc.) for applying to MDI’s programmes.
Application deadlines: For PGDM etc., applications close in late November in many recent cycles.
