PURBANCHAL UNIVERSITY
Purbanchal University (PU) is one of Nepal’s leading public universities, established in 1994 by the Government of Nepal. Located in Gothgaun, Morang District, the university was founded to decentralize higher education and provide quality professional education across Nepal.
In 2025, Purbanchal University received official approval from the Medical Education Commission (MEC) Nepal to launch its MBBS program through the School of Medical Sciences. The university utilizes Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar, as its teaching hospital, providing students with extensive clinical exposure and practical medical training.
